Our Church
Who We Are
As people, we are a diverse group, including many young families and singles who have
moved to Austin to work in the high tech industry or to be involved in the education
institutes of Austin.
When you ask our members where they grew up, you will discover quickly that we come from all
over the country, from a variety of different Mennonite denominations and backgrounds, and also
from many non-Mennonite backgrounds.
Please consider joining us any Sunday.
Our Community
Mennonites believe in community. We feel, you cannot be a Mennonite by yourself or in isolation.
Our community of faith is a place where we can find support and caring that empowers each one
to be a disciple of Christ.
Our History
Austin Mennonite Church began in 1985 as a small Bible study group.
The Bible study group became Austin Mennonite Fellowship and began meeting on Sunday mornings for worship in individual homes.
In 1991, the Austin Mennonite Fellowship became Austin Mennonite Church.
Today our church has weekly Sunday morning worship at 9:30 am and Sunday School at 11:00 for Adults, Youth and Children.
We are members of the Mennonite Church USA relating to the Mid-Texas Mennonite Convention
and the Western District Conference. Mid-Texas, that is congregations throughout central and North
Texas and Western District, have congregations that are English speaking and Spanish speaking.
Please consider joining us any Sunday.
