Retreat Pastor: John C. Murray, pastor at Hesston Mennonite Church and Moderator of South Central Conference, will lead the worship services. John graduated from Hesston College and Goshen College and completed seminary studies at AMBS and Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife Krista have 3 children.

Youth Activities will be lead by Hugo Saucedo, Conference Youth Pastor. Activities for children will be held Saturday morning. Childcare for small children will be provided Saturday morning and during the times of worship.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • The camp chef will need 1 or 2 volunteers from each church to help prepare all of the meals on-site.
  • Please volunteer in advance to help provide childcare during services and activities on Saturday morning.
  • If you would like to present special music during worship, please volunteer before Friday, April 8.

Lodging will be in group barracks, so bring personal bedding, sheets, pillows, towels, etc. Limited tent sites (with only water) available at no added cost. Bastrop State Park (512-321-2101).

From Houston: Drive I-10 west to Columbus. Take Hwy 71 west to Bastrop. Take Hwy 21 north on east side of Bastrop. Park entrance is about 2 miles ahead on right after turning off 71. Alternate route: Take Hwy 290 west to near Paige. Take Hwy 21 south to Bastrop. Park entrance is on left on east side of Bastrop.
From San Antonio: Drive I-35 north to San Marcos. Take Hwy 21 east to Bastrop. Continue on 21 past city. Park entrance is about 2 miles ahead on right after 21 turns off Hwy 71.
From Dallas/Ft Worth/Waco: Drive I-35 south to Austin. Take Hwy 183 south to Hwy 71. Take 71 east to Bastrop. Take Hwy 21 north on east side of Bastrop. Park entrance is about 2 miles ahead on right after turning off 71.
From Austin: Drive Hwy 71 east to Bastrop. Take Hwy 21 north on east side of Bastrop. Park entrance is about 2 miles ahead on right after turning off 71.
